Step 2 · Assess: what is lacking before anyone records
Higgins reviews the five submitted items and scores readiness on six pillars. Each gap gets a fix. The recording step opens once the critical items are closed or acknowledged.

Fix list and recording gate
Every gap is rated Critical, High or Medium. The gate opens when no Critical item is left. Typical critical fixes are numbers that disagree between the deck and the one-pager, claims that are not backed by a source, and an ask that differs from one document to the next.
Check yourself: claims to align before investors check them
| Where to look | Question to ask |
|---|---|
| Deck vs. executive summary | Do the headline metrics match exactly? |
| Deck vs. data | Does every percentage trace to a source document? |
| Every document | Is the funding ask the same amount and structure everywhere? |
| Team page vs. LinkedIn | Do titles and track records match? |
