Step 4 · Cohort and live session
A cohort holds no more than 10 companies in one arena. Investors are invited to the arena they follow, then each company's recorded pitch is played, followed by live Q&A.
Arenas
- Pharma and therapeutics
- Fintech
- AI-forward technologies
Each cohort is built around one area of interest so every investor in the room came for that arena.
Run of show
Each company gets a 5 to 7 minute recorded pitch and up to 5 minutes of Q&A. Ten companies back to back is a long sitting, so sessions are split into blocks.
| Part | Time | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Video | 5 to 7 min | The company's recorded pitch plays. Ranking cards pop up for investors. |
| Q&A | Up to 5 min | Company attendees answer questions led by the Higgins team and the investors. |
| Changeover | About 1 min | Next company. |
| Break | About 10 min | After each block of about 4 companies. |
With a 6-minute video, 5-minute Q&A and 1-minute changeover, one company takes about 12 minutes, so a block of 4 runs about 48 minutes.
What the investor sees: ranking cards
While a video plays, cards ask the investor to rank specific things about the presentation. The last card asks: "I am interested in receiving more information about the potential of investing in this company or similar." Those answers drive the interest list and follow-up.
